An initial mapping of relevant courses available from participating HE/FE institutions in the network revealed that the sub-region was generally well served. There were some notable gaps in certain crafts such as ceramics.
Further work is required to identify course content, work placement opportunities, teaching styles and assessment processes. This would be best done by contacting the institution directly.

There is a growing demand for accredited flexible modular courses offering the quality assurance for professional development. In addition there is interest from both the sector and FE/HE to develop modules in creativity and entrepreneurial skills. There are a number of curriculum projects to support this development, please see the Sector Group Workplan for more details.
The sector is generally well served by a range of short courses commissioned by the strategic agencies such as the ‘Cultural Leadership Programme’ for the arts sector; private training providers and charitable organisations such as CAPE UK. A growing number of these organisations are already establishing links with FE/HE to deliver accredited short courses such as CIDA and Kala Sangam.
Postgraduate courses available within the sub region, as well as careers advice and job roles across all sectors can be located at www.prospects.ac.uk
