The Leadership, Management, Innovation and Enterprise sector group have met regularly since the groups’ establishment in October 2008. The group has a widespread membership covering local colleges, universities, private training providers, sector skill councils and professional bodies.

The sector group has established 3 sub groups to implement the activities identified in the work plan. These groups are looking at the following areas:

• Curriculum Development
• Employer engagement and marketing
• Progression

Each of these groups has met several times and they report their activities and plans back to the main sector group at regular intervals.

Leadership, management, innovation and enterprise is both a discrete sector group and also a cross cutting theme with all the other sector groups. To this end strong links have been created with all the other identified sector groups, particularly the business services, construction and the built environment and health, social care and early years groups.
Some joint activity is planned with each of these groups in the near future.

The aim of the leadership, management, innovation and enterprise sector group is to promote and develop opportunities for progression to learners in West Yorkshire to enable them to acquire the higher level leadership and management skills necessary for a vibrant and dynamic regional economy.

The Sector Group is also working with industry and employers to deliver high quality and flexible solutions for improved business leadership performance and enhanced learning opportunities
