IAG Focus Groups
Resource Development
The Resources Focus group is made up of representatives from the IAG Task Group. The objectives for this group are to:
- Ensure all funded local, regional and national resources are made available to support the delivery of IAG into HE.
- Identify gaps in the resources available and seek to develop local solutions to meet the needs of the delivery network.
- Ensure all developed resources are self sustaining.
- Develop an underpinning IAG Management system that supports and enable IAG activity across the West Yorkshire network.
IAG Commissioning
The IAG Commissioning Steering group is made up of representatives from the IAG Task Group. The objectives for this group are to:
- Review IAG commissioned activites
- Intergrate and share good practice, supporting the provision of independent and high quality Information, Advice and Guidance to enable students to make the most of their ability by making well informed choices about progression to appropriate courses.
- Develop a core standardised IAG offer for all potential non-traditional learners looking to progress into HE that ensures all individuals throughout West Yorkshire have the opportunity to access quality assured information via web, phone and face to face services.
- Create a quality assured framework ‘curriculum’ and associated support packs for group IAG into HE sessions.
Training and Development
The Training and Development Focus group is made up of representatives from the IAG Task Group. The objectives for this group are to:
- Provide professional development to lecturers, teachers, trainers and support staff to increase the knowledge, awareness, capabilities and capacity around the delivery of IAG into HE.
- Increase the confidence and skills to support progression within and between vocational and academic learning.
- Adopt a collaborative approach to the development activities around IAG, Sector and Credit/Progression.
- Develop bespoke modules of Guidance qualifications to deliver IAG into HE.
