RAEng London Design Festival Programme 2010
20th September - 23rd September
3 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5DG.
This year for the first time the Academy will be participating in the London Design Festival by staging a programme of activities. The theme of programme is Designing a low carbon infrastructure for London and will run from the 20th to the 23rd of September 2010. The aim is to showcase the latest cutting edge technology that has been developed and implemented to mitigate the effects of fossil fuel usage and dependence in transport and buildings not just in London but in any large city in the UK. In addition we have a day dedicated to Innovation, which includes a talk by serial entrepreneur Richard Farleigh followed by the final of our own Innovation Hothouse. This will be judged by a group of venture capitalists and business angels who will be looking to invest in the student projects being presented.

The finale of our programme will be our Inaugural Engineering Design lecture given by Keith Clarke, CEO of Atkins. Keith’s recent Brunel lecture made very clear the case that achieving a low carbon society requires a new industrial revolution; this augurs for a fascinating lecture and Q&A!
Tickets are required these are free and available from my colleague Ian Bowbrick (ian.bowbrick@raeng.org.uk)

For details of the programme, please see the attached flyer. This information is also available online from www.raeng.org.uk/ldf2010
