Economic Challenge Investment Fund

In April 2009 WYLLN were successful in their bid to HEFCE's Economic Challenge Investment Fund. WYLLN will receive £999,309 if the equal amount of matched funding is received from Yorkshire Forward.

 

The project will run until September 2010 and will support individuals suffering from or at risk of suffering from the impact of the economic downturn in West Yorkshire. Activity will include enhancing careers guidance currently on offer through JobCentre Plus and Nextstep and activities to help individuals develop further higher level skills or use their existing skills more effectively.

Partner institutions involved in the ECIF project are the University of Huddersfield, University of Leeds, University of Bradford, Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds Trinity & All Saints, Leeds City College, Bradford College, Leeds College of Building, Joseph Priestley College, Calderdale College, Wakefield College.

A table will shortly be available giving a contact for each Local Authority Area and details of the offer at each institution.
